The ISTE Literacy PLN
(Professional Learning Network) announces its 2020 annual award!
Colleagues are encouraged to submit a
nomination/application for the ISTE Literacy Network annual SPOTLIGHT Literacy PRACTICE AWARD
ISTE PLN Award Winners receive:
- An engraved award acknowledging the recipient’s outstanding achievement
- A one-year basic individual ISTE membership
- Recognition in ISTE publications and on the iste.org website
- Recognition at the ISTE Conference & Expo
- Opportunities to contribute to the field (blog, magazine, other volunteer opportunity)
To apply, please address each of the following:
1. Q:
What to offer for consideration? A: An Original or original modification/personalization of a known
instructional practice/approach
2. Describe
the significant learning goal the practice addresses
3. Give
a clear, full description of the practice: What’s done? What’s accomplished? What’s
the significance?
4. Give
a Description of how the practice is implemented (not necessarily a full
lesson/activity plan but enough elements of one so that colleagues may
understand and plan to implement the practice
5. Give
Evidence of implementation (photos or captures of materials, the practice in
implementation, student work samples, etc.)
6. Describe
the Replicability of the practice: Can colleagues replicate implementation of
the practice?
What would be needed to do so? Give links to any ancillary online tutorials that would support implementation (not necessarily produced personally, may be tutorials found online that would provide support for colleagues interest in replicating the practice offered in the application)

7. Include
an endorsement of the practice by an instructional supervisor and/or colleague
(a short statement assuring that practice has been implemented and is worthy of
note and replication by colleagues).

AND - Nomination form for anyone who wants to nominate
someone other than themselves for an award. Submitting this form
will send an email to the person they nominated, inviting that person to
then fill out the application form for the award:
